The main difference with regard to emotions between men and women in relationships is in the way we communicate our feelings, wants and needs. I’ve certainly noticed from personal experience, as well as from numerous couples that sometimes men have a very difficult time communicating how they feel. This would seem to indicate emotional disconnect for men. However, in truth, men indeed have deep feelings and very strong emotions – they just have a different way of expressing them.

Men generally like to try and fix things, as it is in their nature to want to solve problems. They are typically more analytical and methodical than women. The diagnostic mechanism that operates men’s reason and logic is mainly based on factual data and real evidence. Perhaps that’s why they tend to be more skeptical and cynical at times. The emotional intelligence of men seems to be an underlying thematic issue in many relationships.

Men are not great mind-readers! They need clear communication from women as to what we want exactly, how we feel about certain issues, and what we sensibly think about particular subjects. Women on the other hand can sometimes be overly-sensitive, highly-emotional, ultra-dramatic, and rather vague in expressing themselves. Sorry ladies, but I think you all know what I’m talking about.

One of the common problems that I’ve observed with couples is men’s frustration with lack of sex in a marriage or relationship. Men genreally don’t feel like they get enough and women sometimes feel like they get too much, which inevitably causes disconnect. But there’s a big difference between simple intercourse and holistic intimacy . Men have an inherent primal drive for sexual intercourse and to ejaculate – basically a sex machine. Women want more foreplay, to be gently caressed, and attended to in many creative ways – nurturing their body, mind and soul. So how do we compromise in sustaining a deep connection and robust sex life?

Communication is crucial in maintaining a solid and healthy union and will continue to be an ongoing endeavor for both partners. Men need to understand and sometimes need to be taught that the emotional component with sex is extremely important. Women may actually desire more sex if it relates to sincere intimacy , as it would create a more intense and passionate bond between the couple. Men will most likely enjoy connecting on this level just as much as women when they experience how deeply rewarding it can be.

Sometimes outside issues can affect our libido causing one or both partners to withdraw from sexual intimacy for any length of time. Stress is one of the major factors that can greatly influence our sex lives. If we’re concerned about our work, families , finances, health issues or any number of things, it’s difficult to take the time and focus our energy and attention on love-making. There are all-natural herbal libido enhancements for both men and women that may help a great deal. When we experience sexual disconnect and lack of communication, it tends to perpetuate into emotional separation and disengagement of intimate contact altogether. Then more problems are created. It may seem like sex is the problem, but in reality it is an underlying issue that causes the disconnection.

Regardless of what the issues may be, do whatever it takes to talk it out and plan quality time to reignite the sparks of passion that brought you together in the first place. Set up a date night and make sure to concentrate on just the two of you, letting everything else go for the time being. Make eye contact, notice what you appreciate in one another, and allow yourselves to truly enjoy this special time together without any distractions. Spice up your intimacy with a nice sensual massage using a sexy massage bodyglide/lubricant. Or try a stimulation gel to heat things up, enhance your pleasure and reintroduce fun into your intimate reunion.
