Hypnosis has been used for many centuries, although many still debate the process. From the beginning, hypnosis to increase self esteem , stop smoking, and lose weight has been a lifesaver for many people. Often, when other methods fail, people will turn to hypnosis, and often wish they had tried that first. Habits, such as smoking become addictions, which are deep rooted into a person’s mind. The same can be said for traits such as low self esteem . It is the thought processes of the individual which drive these traits and habits , so it is only reasonable to believe that they can be reversed the same way. Self esteem refers to the way a person thinks of themselves. Changing those thoughts, therefore, must come from changing the thought process. This is where hypnosis comes into play.

Using hypnosis to increase self esteem involves using a method of being put under hypnosis . This can be done by a professional, but some have found other, less expensive methods, such as tapes. The positive thoughts are presented to the person who is under hypnosis . Suggestions such as “I am an intelligent, beautiful person” (or something similar) are given to the subject who is in a hypnotic state. Because the person is relaxed and their mind is open to suggestion, the thought is implanted more easily. Hypnosis is a relaxed and natural state of mind, so it more readily accepts the suggestion. Even a person with very low self esteem can be given this message successfully. The concept is that once the person “awakes” from hypnosis, their mind will continue to foster the positive suggestion. Therefore, the subject will think positive thoughts about themselves rather than negative.

Contrary to what some people believe, the subject is not under the control of the therapist, or the one giving the positive thoughts. The subject is not asleep, but rather in a very relaxed state in which the mind can accept new concepts. Hypnosis to increase self esteem is not dangerous, so no harm can come from giving it a try. Low self esteem can affect a person’s entire life. Trying hypnosis is an easy way to change negative thoughts into positive thoughts and ultimately feel better about oneself. The hypnotic state comes easily for some people, but not all. Sometimes it takes more than one attempt to reach the state of relaxation needed to accept the positive thoughts. One should not give up without giving it several attempts. The outcome could be life-changing.

Those who have suffered with low self esteem know the pain associated with it. Negative thoughts produce negative effects. By using hypnosis to increase self esteem, a person can begin to realize how powerful a positive attitude and presentation can be. By being more positive, a person attracts other positive people and situations. It has a snowball effect that takes many people by surprise. No one deserves to have a negative and low self esteem. It is very possible that hypnosis can change that into a positive self esteem and influence someone’s life forever.
