Aromatherapy

Scents such a lavender and sweet marjoram can help calm the mind and body.

As a Chinese aromatherapist, I create proprietary blends that many clients use during the day to evoke a sense of calmness and detoxify stress hormones.

To use scents while in the work place, simply douse a tissue with scents, then keep in a small plastic, sealed bag. When stress hits, simply inhale the scent directly from the bottle or diffuse the scent to shift the mind from agitated, hectic states to more serene states.

This method allows you to enjoy scents while making sure not to get fragrance in the air, because some people are sensitive to fragrance.

Herb Break

Detoxify the body and reduce the impact of stress with a cup of Chinese medicinal herb tea.

Chinese herbalists can provide custom formulations not only to balance the body when you are under stress, but also to promote better sleep, digestion, and increase metabolism.

We can’t always avoid stress in life, but we can certainly rebalance our bodies to better cope with stress.

Visualize Peaceful Scenes

Take a few moments to picture a quiet stream in the middle of a cool forest. Or perhaps your serene space is the ocean with its soothing blue waves.

As you visualize your favorite nature space, direct your mind to notice as many things as you can about your peaceful place.

* What is the temperature like?
* What scents do you notice?* What sounds do you hear?
* What feelings do you have?

By focusing your mind not only on visualizing but also imagining a full sensory experience, you redirect your thoughts away from anxiety and concerns that can create stress.
