In today’s workplace, leaders have much to manage: inspire managers, motivate employees, connect with customers and keep profits coming. Unfortunately, with so much on their plates, leaders can sometimes feel overwhelmed, overworked, overstressed and just plain burned out.

Taking time to unplug, recharge and re-energize is of the utmost importance to those in a leadership position. Taking time for oneself is imperative to being a great leader.

But how can you let go of those workplace distractions to focus on attracting new, revitalizing energy?

Focus flows to where you place your energy and where you place your energy becomes reality. It takes fresh new alive energy to continue to move forward, motivate and lead.

What are you doing to guarantee that new energy will continuously flow into your life instead of becoming burned out?

3 Keys to Improve Your Leadership Energy

Leaders need to be the beacon on the hill when all else is darkness, in chaos and disconnected. Some say, “I’ll play a round or golf or go fishing. In reality, they are wonderful for downtime but do little to disconnect you from the world outside and re-energize you. Leaders need the power of three; it is these three keys that will make revitalizing energy happen.

1. Put the past behind you. Forget the past so you can allow new energy and new thinking to enter your life.
2. Desire what you want more than what you have. Choose to want the new energy in your life more than what you put up with every day.
3. Take action.

Three is the key -- not only to help you control your thoughts but to help you create your newly energized future. When you choose to eliminate the irrelevant parts of your past and focus your thoughts only on what you want to create, regenerate and revitalize, then take action, you have the perfect formula to create the results you want.

Focus, Eliminate and Connect with New Revitalizing Energy

Put 100 percent of your focus on your endeavor or issue, in this case your personal revitalization, and remain focused. Do not allow your mind to wander. It is the mind that is your direct link to within, where you must go to be successful.

Focus on this minute, not any other when regenerating. Focus on today not tomorrow. Focus on what is at hand, not what isn’t or could never be. Your strength and best option for success is in this very moment.

When it comes to bringing new creative motivational energy into your life, the road to success is putting your focus only on that process. To do this you need a quiet spot with no distractions and no interruptions. Simply breathe, quiet your mind and focus on drawing new revitalizing energy with every breath. Focus was the key to Steve Job’s, Albert Einstein’s and Mahatma Gandhi’s success.

Eliminate the chaos and distractions so focus can flow to the regeneration of you physically, mentally and spiritually. Put everything from the past behind you; think not of the future just of the moment you are in. Once you have eliminated any distractions and are focused solely on your breathing and the present moment, don’t be surprised if your mind wanders. Gently remind your mind that you are focusing on revitalizing your personal energy and need to stay focused on breathing and quieting your mind. Until you hit your spiritual center you cannot truly re-energize your being. The spiritual component within is key to significant energy shifts.

Connect to access the power within – get plugged in to universal energy. You can overcome anything standing in your way when connected to the power within. It is well documented that it was this quiet space inner energy that helped Jobs innovate new ideas like the iPhone, Einstein the extraordinary understanding of physics and Gandhi the power to understand how to face the strife in his country.

Once you achieve total quiet and peace within, you will be amazed at what you hear; ideas that may flash through your mind or problems you may solve. It is this process that regenerates and revitalizes the heart and soul of a leader and helps one to connect on a very deep level with self and followers.

Focus on the regeneration of leaders at all levels so the newly found energy flows through the workforce -- leaders can't change the workforce environment and productivity if they don't change themselves first -- energy follows focus and thinking. Focus on downtime to achieve maximum productivity , performance and innovation.
