There are situations in life where we sometimes feel as if we aren’t being treated fairly. Sometimes it seems like the other person always gets the break. We may wish we had more talent or more opportunities to shine but it seems like we are always the ones who are getting left behind. We wonder why some people get ahead when it appears they are doing the same things we are doing.

There are times when we try to read things into what other people are saying and create things that aren’t even there. We tend to beat ourselves up if things don’t go exactly like we had hoped. We tend to give up when we try something and we fail. We need to be more patient and keep going to see what results we will have later down the road. We can’t compare ourselves to others and think we are getting what we deserve.

Galatians 5:26 “Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another.”

It is up to us to stay positive and remember we are not all going to have the same direction in life. We all can’t be managers. We all can’t be rich. We all can’t be thin. The variety of people who are in the world make the mix God wants to have so the things which need to be done can be done. When we find we can’t do what someone else can, we know we have to look in a different area for our own special niche.

Once we learn things are not always going to go our way and we can’t be like someone else, we can begin to see the pattern for our lives. When we realize everyone is different with different talents and skills, we will be able to accept and support others who appear to be doing better than we are. Although they are doing well in one area, they may need help in another. They may just need the help we can give.

We can actually find ways to complement each other rather than compete. When we look at what we have and what others have and learn to work together, we can make great things happen. There is really no reason for competition between us because we are all different. The more we can realize this and lift each other up, the better we can work together to help others.

Although we have different talents and abilities we are created the same. God made us in His image and wants us to love as He loves, to give as He gives and to do the things He created us to do. We really shouldn’t be worried about what others are doing to the point we get distracted from what God wants us to do. We are all created equally in His image.

Genesis 5:1 “This is the written account of the descendants of Adam. When God created human beings, he made them to be like himself.”

We are who we are. We are God’s creation. We need to realize God made each of us special and different for a reason. It’s time to stop competing with one another and being jealous. We are unique and different yet we have the same purpose and goals. We have the same guidelines. When we decide to learn what God's unique instruction is for us, we can find out just how special we are and how we can make a difference.
