3 c flour
1.5 c shortening
0.5 c water
2 T flour
1 t salt
In large bowl cut shortening into flour until it resembles course corn meal. In separate bowl mix water 2 tablespoon flour and salt. Stir into a paste-like mix. Stir it with a fork into the bigger bowl until well blended. Roll out and bake according to pie recipe.
Bakers Note– If it seems too dry or wet add small amounts of flour or water. Also, handle as little as possible so that the chunks of shorting can remain in tact–refrigerating before working with it helps as well.
