Stopping smoking is not normally an easy task for most of us mere mortals. And I am sure Superman does not smoke and has therefore never had the disappointment of trying then starting again. Think about it this way, though; most smokers stop every day, when they are asleep. So it is possible.

If you are thinking of quitting, have a look at these tips, and see how you feel.

Smoking itself is not because of lack of willpower. You have the willpower to read this article. So you have the willpower to try different ways of quitting until you stop smoking for good.

You can set a stop smoking date and stick to it. Alternatively, you can reduce by 1-5 cigarettes a week and stop more gradually. Whichever strategy works best for you is fine.

Taking nicotine in any other form is still being addicted to it. Do not fool yourself that you have stopped if you have merely switched addictions or habits .

If you worry about weight gain, then surely you are using the cigarettes as an appetite suppressant. This is where a method like EFT can help. EFT goes to the roots of why there is a tendency to overeat, and removes those feelings from your mind-body. Then you no longer need to smoke to control your weight.

If you worry about cravings or a smoking desire, EFT is the easiest way I know of for releasing them on minutes. It usually takes less time to release a smoking craving with EFT than it takes to actually smoke a cigarette. So you can see why EFT makes sense.

And if you have stopped before but became moody or irritable, EFT is great for that. With EFT, we say that the moodiness or irritability was self-medicated away by the smoking. So if you stop smoking without releasing the underling uncomfortable emotions, then they simply make themselves known. It is better to use EFT for those feelings before stopping smoking. Then quitting should be easy.

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques and is the moat effective long-term results method that I know of for giving up smoking. Otherwise known as Tapping, EFT is a specific combination of self-applied easy acupressure and specific releasing wording. This combination is what makes EFT so powerful.

Maybe you can write a list of what you hope to achieve when you stop smoking. Make a list of all the positives. Then armed with that list, go seek out a good Stop Smoking EFT book, program, or practitioner. Enjoy your freedom!
