“Use what talents you possess;
the woods would be very silentif no birds sang except those
that sang best.”

~ Henry Van Dyke

Even though you lost your job, remember you are still the same person. Nothing can take away your special gifts.

Stand-up and take a bow acknowledging the beautiful person you have become and your special gifts!

You might say I don’t have any special gifts. Hold on there, we all have them.

Let’s focus for a minute what comes easy to you. Do you have a beautiful smile, people feel comfortable being with you, great sense of humor, or are you a math wiz, etc.?

Feeling better?

Let’s do a little experiment today. During the day write down what makes you a beautiful person. No need to share the list.

For some of us who had trouble thinking what people like about me. Try this simple exercise :

• Think about a close friend and what you like about them.
• Write these traits down.• Ask yourself this question “Do I also have some of these qualities?”
• Now list your special gifts.

Once you have created a list review it in the morning and evening. Pick one special gift you possess and practice it three times that day. As the days go, add another special gift each day and in time you will be practicing all your gifts each day.

Remember what Henry Van Dyke said, “Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best.”

Go play full-out and enjoy the beautiful person you have become!
