If your doctor says you need a CT scan, you get one and don’t ask questions right ? Wrong ! The first question you should ask is can we use another process or is there is another process available ?

The use of CT scans has increased thirty fold in the past 20 years. Doctors are overusing CT scans similar to the way they are overusing antibiotics. Healthy people are being given the choice of having a virtual CT colonoscopy instead of the more reliable standard colonoscopy using the flexible tube procedure. Those who choose the CT procedure will unknowingly become exposed to massive levels of DNA gene mutating radiation.

The National Cancer Institute revealed a staggering statistic in 2008. By their own admission, CT scans administered in 2007 may have contributed to approximately 28,500 new cancer cases and nearly 15,000 cancer deaths. That’s just one year’s statistics. So it is entirely possible to assume that approximately 285,000 new cancer cases and 150,000 cancer deaths have occurred as a result of needless CT scans in the past 10 years.

So let’s put this into perspective. The Vietnam War killed 58,000 American military personnel in 15 years. A war where people had guns, aircraft, and other lethal weapons trying very hard to kill each-other. And in little more than half that time, cancer deaths have tripled the Vietnam War deaths.

In doctor’s offices and hospitals around the world, millions of unsuspecting patients are being exposed to excessive radiation when they receive CT scans. Numerous highly qualified people in the medical field confirmed, as a result of extensive research, that radiation from a typical CT scan will result in tens of thousands of new cancer cases. Most of these new cancer cases could possibly have been avoided. And if that’s not bad enough, it has been revealed by numerous news outlets across the United States and the UK that many of the CT scan operators are subjecting their patients to overexposure due to miss-calibration of their units.

Enough of the bad news, how about some good news for a change ? It seems as if there are some herbs and nutrients that can prevent some of the dangers of radiation exposure. A key player in the battle against radiation poison is a form of Bioflavonoids called Polyphenols which are found in plants and plant by-products, mainly grapes, pomegranates, strawberries, and green tea. Polyphenols are known to inhibit the growth of cancerous tumors. They also decrease the formation of blood clots, a major cause of heart attack and stroke.

Three of the major supplemental players in the Polyphenol category are Resveratrol, Quercetin, and Green Tea. Resveratrol is found in grapes and can assist in the prevention of Cancer. It has antioxidant properties and anticoagulant properties. Resveratrol is also a major contributor to a healthy heart. Green Tea has a vast array of curative applications, and you don’t have to be a tea drinker to take advantage of it’s healing powers because it comes in capsule form also. Cancer prevention and cancer treatment are among Green Tea’s strong points.

So if your doctor tells you a CT scan or X-Ray is absolutely necessary, start taking Green Tea and Resveratrol immediately. Actually, it would not be a bad idea to take them on a regular basis. They have numerous health benefits.
