Photoshop CS3 allows smart filters and easy ways to put them on. When you are inputting a filter into a smart object it automatically uses the smart filters, application of the filters are as normal as adding a new layer. It has an advantage i.e. you can change the applied filter continuously, it has no limit without ruining the pixels. It also has some features like auto-blending techniques along with the edit and has opacity setting which allows you to control the adjustments. Sharing a tutorial to support the points of Photoshop CS3:

Smart Filters: Modifying filter settings

Using Gaussian Blur- Set the radius to 3.0 pixels; this will provide a nice softness. Chosen image will be visible as the smart subject, in the layers palette, you will see the smart subject has smart filter section right underneath it.

With the Gaussian blur now is the smart filter as it is used on a smart image. In the white rectangle, you will see the smart filter mask thumbnail.

Until you have made any mistake this will give you a soft glow on the object. And if you want to blur more than the effect shall be used more, and if you think you need to change effect then you can decrease the effect also. In this case, you can easily undo and redo the effects. And even if you have erased the histories you can still get the excess to the redo and undo settings just by double-clicking the name of the effect you used, then the filter’s dialog box will appear which allows you to changes you need. You can use this every time you want even more than 50 times. Increasing the radius and applying effect will give the image have more blurring, if you are not satisfied with the soft glow then you can change it repeatedly unless you are getting the right amount of blur that the image needs. Sometimes because of the camera settings, the picture can be sharpened more than usual this case radius needs to be increased until the softness it well enough.

Smart Filters actually does the same work as the layers. Where you can change the background as well, the changing or removing of the background is known as Background removal service. Background removal is when your image has that boring look and it is also dull, you can remove it with a new one. Using the Photoshop CS3 it is easier. All you have to do is select the subject of the image by using Clipping Path Services and then you will get the subject and the background detached from each other. You can also change the background as much as you want if you don’t like it but remember to keep the clipping path constant and then change the background. Another editing can be also done with this software all you have to do is sit with work you need to know. Explore the effects and apply them to the images you need. Best way to work smoothly is to practice more often, once you start practicing you will start knowing about more and more. Keep the good work on.
