The Nature Spirits are all around us and acknowledging them can help if you are meditating in nature, doing energy healing or even growing plants in your garden.

The Nature Spirits are extensions of the Angelic realm and the ancient writings suggest that, although they live on a higher plane than the physical plane of existence, these spirits (or Elementals) are at a low level of spiritual evolution. They have no will of their own and come under direction from a higher level. They act as the architects/builders of nature as we know it. It is believed their next stage of evolution is to manifest as inert matter – rocks etc. – before, over eons of time, evolving through the plant, animal and human kingdoms.

As the builders, the Nature Spirits are part of our everyday existence, as they work tirelessly to help our plants grow and shape the world we live in. The belief in these beings is a relatively new understanding of the Western world, but the indigenous peoples have always believed that nature spirits inhabited the Earth.

They inhabit mountains, lakes, trees, even the homes we live in and they have different forms and roles to suit each case. More modern societies named these spirits as Fairies, Gnomes, Elves, Brownies or even Leprechauns.

Taking this a little deeper, if the nature spirits are all around us, even although most of us cannot see them, they must have some influence on our lives as they have ‘consciousness’. They are not self-conscious, like humans, but they have a consciousness and therefore basic emotions of ‘happy and sad’ will register within their energy.

Most of us have heard of ‘Findhorn’ in Scotland, a place were the growing of food is done with this understanding of the Inner worlds and the Nature Spirits. Findhorn started in the 1960’s and in the past 47 years it has grown considerably and has its own Foundation and runs many eco-friendly workshops. It is known throughout the world and all because the people that founded it knew about the Laws of Nature and the Nature Spirits and gave them respect by just acknowledging them - when planting their crops.

So the next time you are in nature or in your garden, have a ‘chat’ with the plants and the earth, in doing this you are acknowledging the Nature Spirits and that will certainly make them happy.
