I have a morning booty call, no missing it, it is absolute. It is my two year old ready for his bottom to be changed. Funny thing, when we were called upon to give our morning routines, this naturally came to mind as it’s my reality.

Sorry to disappoint those that may have thought this was going in another direction. I am laughing out loud as I write this. Of course I have other items on my list to accomplish as well. I absolutely have to get up earlier than my child or I would not do my yoga, meditations and Reiki work. It clears my head and sets me up for a successful day; more important it allows me to give thanks and appreciation to all involved in my life and prayer or energy work for those in need.

I also manage to get showered, dressed and breakfast on the table before my son opens his little eyes to the new day in his world. I manage to get him dressed on most days before he is awake, and with a quick brush of the teeth he wakes up and is strapped in his big boy chair at the table. This is where the time comes in. I take time to sit with him, talk to him and of course we sing songs. We have a saying that I believe to be a Chinese proverb, we use when we are running out of time, “rush but don’t hurry”. Sometimes those wheat meat strips and mustard take so long to eat (he is in love with mustard).

After eating and brushing teeth once more, we are out the door to grandma and grandpa’s house or daycare, depending on the day, so I can start work by 9:00. Sometimes grandpa will tell me not to feed him so he can make him his special oatmeal!

Then there is the weekend. I try not to place any “special, yeah it’s Friday” energy on Fridays (thanks to Eckhart Tolle) as I know it makes Monday horrific. Works well for me to address it just like another day. My weekends start the same with getting up early and doing my spiritual love work, but I don’t have to leave the house so quickly. I get to read books , and watch Hanny Manny and Little Einstein’s, crazy enough, I actually like these shows now. If you got kids, you know what I mean. I sometimes do go on the trip in my favorite rocket ship, flying through the sky with Little Einsteins…sorry, I can’t get that song out of my head.

That is pretty much it and probably very similar to many of you if you have kids.
I look forward to reading your morning routines!
Organically Yours,
Renay Matthews
