I so love going to a concert and listening to the orchestra. I find myself so swept away by the beauty of it all. It amazes me how all the parts come together to produce the work of art we get to experience with our own ears. When watching a play, I can achieve that same feeling. All the separate parts coming together to put forth this masterpiece right before my eyes. When I’m out in nature, it’s the same thing. Just taking in the wondrous view around me can take my breath away. These are just a few of the activities that promote blissful feelings within me. When I experience these blissful feelings, I just want to bask in them…to bathe in them…and who wouldn’t? After all, it feels good to feel good. So when we find ourselves in the midst of chaotic feelings, how do we re-capture those peaceful, blissful feelings? Use your breath to milk the bliss!

When all is flowing well for us, it's useful to anchor this blissful feeling and what better way to accomplish that anchor than with our breath. Using your breath is an easy and effortless way to milk the bliss you’re feeling in the moment and recreate those blissful feelings when you don’t feel so blissful. You begin by taking three deliberate, deep breaths while holding an intention in your mind. Your intention can be something along the lines of, “These three breaths will serve to remind me of this wonderful, blissful feeling I am experiencing in this moment." Then take three deliberate deep breaths. Then state "When I take three breaths, they will serve to inspire the blissful feelings that will promote well-being." You can feel free to use whatever verbiage will work best for you. The point of the exercise is to anchor that sense of awesomeness you're feeling in the moment with your breath so that you can access those feelings when things are not so blissful.

When you find yourself feeling troubled, use the three breaths to bring you back to your own sense of wholeness, your own inner harmony. Why not try it out for yourself? What have you got to lose?
