As Paramahansa Yogananda, the Indian guru, said, “Life is a battlefield.” The ultimate advice to the soldier on the “battle field of life” comes from Krishna to Arjuna in the Bhagavad-Gita, when He said:
tasmat sarvesu kalesu
mam anusmara yudhya camayy arpita-mano-buddhir
mam evaishyasy asamsayah
Translated into English, this means:
“Therefore, Arjuna, you should always think of Me and at the same time carry out your prescribed duty of fighting. With your activities dedicated to Me and your mind and intelligence fixed on Me, you will attain Me without doubt.”
Life is indeed a battlefield because we have to battle the forces of the lower self and negative ego within and without. We have to battle the forces of the media which is constantly trying to grab our attention with gossip and sensationalism, we have to battle the forces of commercials and TV which are constantly trying to sell us lower self addictions and consciousness, and we have to battle all the people in our lives that drag us down if we are not careful. And last but certainly not least, we have to battle our own negative ego, negative thoughts, feelings, emotions and energies! So life is indeed a battlefield!
And the only way to ever and truly win this battle is by keeping our mind, intelligence and activities fixed on God/ Brahma/ Allah/ Dharmakaya/ The I AM THAT I AM.
The way to live in this world and win this battle is to live a life of sustained meditation . It is to focus our mind, consciousness and activities on Spirit 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. This is a prerequisite to becoming a living Integrated Ascended Master in this world!
