Life is an interesting thing. You never know what is waiting for you around the corner. It may be something new, exciting, and bring a lot of opportunities. But once in a while our path turns into a rocky road with some hurdles to overcome.

It takes time to find your place, figure out what you want to do, whom you want to see by your side. We live to pursuit our dreams and aims. The road is long, and to come to the right place and find yourself you often have to face some difficulties.

The world around us changes and we do too. We grow and learn how to handle difficult situations, how to live with other people or without them, how to let some things go, etc. There might be hundreds of twists and turns, and you have to decide which path to take to come to the right place at the end.

I bet everyone had moments when they had to let go the past and move on to a new stage. It isn’t easy and takes some time, but there are ways to deal with it, no matter whether it is a job, a relationship, an old habit, etc.

I was working for one company for about a year. Everything was fine at first. But I had a feeling that I was doing something wrong, and it was not a place where I saw myself in the future.

As the time went by, I caught myself thinking that I didn’t want to work there anymore, I didn’t enjoy it, and I was tired of it. My friends said that I look exhausted and a bit depressed. That was a moment when I decided to take a chance and change something in my life.

And you know what? I have no regrets at all.

All my life I was dreaming to see the world and write about places I’ve been to. I have decided to quit my job, break away from this office routine, and pursuit my goals.

We often lose ourselves in a daily routine, get accustomed to our monotonous job, same people. But if you feel that you are moving in the wrong direction or got trapped in despair and depression , then you have to learn how to break free. Don’t be afraid to take a chance. I came up with several tips on how to let things go and learn to move on.

Decide what is important for you

This is your life, and only you have a full control over it. It’s up to you to decide what to do, where to live, who to make friends with and so on. But when you see that something isn’t the way you wanted to be, or you find yourself in a situation where your wishes and needs are neglected, don’t waste your time. Change it. If you are dragged down by something, leave that and do what feels right for you and makes you happy.

Accept everything the way it is

Learn to accept people and the world around you the way they are. For example, you have a friend, but your points of view on certain things don’t match. If a person is really important to you, you have to understand that this is just another perspective, and you have to accept the fact that people think in different ways or have other values in life.The same goes with life. No matter what happens, just accept everything as it is. If one door closes, you have zillions of others. New opportunities lie ahead of you.

Don’t let fear to hold you back

Fear is that emotional state that quite often holds us back and prevents from moving on. Don’t let fear take control of your life. You are not alone. There are people who will always support you.At some point you might be afraid of that “unknown” ahead of you, or a failure. That’s OK to be afraid, but you should face it and deal with it. Life has a lot of surprises, and new things seem to be terrifying sometimes, but you can take a chance.

Stop thinking about the past

We go through various things in life, both happy and unpleasant. Sometimes we lose people, overcome heart-tearing breakups, get fired, etc. It is hard, but stop reminiscing and torture yourself with memories of the past. You cannot change it, but you have enough strength to embrace it and move forward.

Spend some time alone

Sometimes you need to escape the routine, friends, family , and spend some time alone. You can go on a trip or just spend a quiet evening at home. Go offline and clear your inner mess.

Forgive

Life may be unfair, but it is not your fault. Sometimes it goes like this, and you can’t do anything. Learn to forgive. Take some time to reconsider everything. Try to understand things and accept them. Once you do, you will be relieved and ready to experience something new.

Learn something new

Never stop learning . Engage yourself in various activities and discover something new about the world around you and yourself. If you want to make a change, start with yourself.

Whatever comes in our life, it won’t last forever. We just need enough of get-up-and-go to move on and change the things we don’t like.

Try not to lose faith in your dreams . Keep moving.
