How are Points Calculated in the Indian Rummy Game?
Once an individual has met the conditions for winning an Indian Rummy Game and declares, the points of all the other players are calculated. The calculation helps in ranking the rest of the player such that if there are 6 players, we can have the first position (the winner), second position, third position, fourth position, fifth position and sixth position. In the event of a wrong declaration of winning (when a player claims to have won but did not meet the condition), he will be dropped from the game and he will lose 80 points. There are 13 values of card in the Indian Rummy Game. They include A, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, J, K Q. A, J, K and Q are known as high value cards and are to be counted as 10 points each. The other cards are counted according to their face value for instance, 2 will be counted as 2 points while 8 will be counted as 8 points. There are other rules that are followed while counting the points on the cards. • If miss your turn 3 consecutive times during the game because you feel it will be unfavorable, you get 40 points and you are dropped from the game.
• If you decide to forfeit the game before your very first pick when it is your turn, you get 20 points total.
• If you decide to forfeit the game after you have picked your first, you get 40 total points.
• If you don’t have a pure sequence as well as one other sequence, your full game is counted. For example, 4 club, 4 love, 4 spade | 4 diamond 5 diamond Q diamond | 3 club 7 club 8 club | Q diamond K diamond | 10 club 9 club did not form any pure sequence, thus the total card will be calculated to be 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 10 + 3 + 7 + 8 + 10 + 10 + 10 + 9 (Remember A, J, K and Q are calculated as 10 points. • If you already have 2 sequences that has at least 1 pure, and then 1 set, the cards that are not part of you sequences and sets will be counted. For instance, if only 8 diamond 5 club and K club are the only cards that do not form a valid sequence or set in your cards that already have a pure sequence, then those are the only values that will be calculated. You will thus, get a total of 8 + 5 + 10 points equaling 13 points.
• If you have 2 sequences with 1 impure and the other pure but no set, only the cards that are not part of your pure and impure sequences will be counted.
