“We Have More Autoimmune Disease Right Now than Cancer”

Right now we have more autoimmune disease in the world than we have heart disease, diabetes, and cancer combined.- WOW! Autoimmune disease is an epidemic in the world that’s out of control and all of this is caused by poor diet , chemicals in our food, and stress.

People are stressed to the max and they are eating terribly and that combination is causing dis-ease in our body and mind. With lots of toxins in our food, foods that contain lots of fat, high-calorie foods that have very little nutrition with lots of salt and sugar… things are out of control. And that’s exactly what we have going on with our bodies. Our bodies are being attacked by this onslaught of terrible chemicals and poor nutrition to the point that our immune system starts attacking our body… and this leads to immune-mediated disease.

What Can We Do?

Our Gut Immune System - Our gut contains more bacteria than we have cells in our body. And those good bacteria which should be around 4 to 5 pounds of good bacteria are not there to support us with a good immune system because of poor diet . Thus with an overgrowth of bad bacteria in our gut… those bad bacteria start to produce toxins that attack the body in general and the mucosal lining of our gut which in turn starts the autoimmune process. It’s a lot more complicated than that but I think you get the picture.

Eat Nutrient Dense Foods - Eating nutrient dense foods is super important… including lots of fruits and veggies instead of fried foods and low nutrition carbs like white bread, animal products, french fries, and processed foods and more. Way back in the 1950’s lots of people still lived on farms and they would eat whatever they grew in their garden or on their farm… and it was fresh delicious fruits and veggies of all kinds. And there was very little in the way of autoimmune disease.

I remember growing up in the 50’s… we always had a garden when we were kids. I think having a garden and being a farm kid gave me a basis for eating healthy because we had lots of fresh fruits and veggies.

Eating a Whole-Foods Plant-Based Diet - Eating a whole-foods plant-based diet is extremely important for healing autoimmune disease. Thus giving the body the nutrition it needs instead of having people eating lots of food and gaining weight and having their bodies starving for good nutrition. And eating organic which does not contain all the terrible chemicals that attack our bodies.

Our Body Wants to Heal - Our bodies want to heal naturally and they will heal if we give them good nutrition. In fact, in some hospitals right now they have special groups of people who work with patients who are not healing. These people help the patients learn about good nutrition and even supply them with food, and low and behold they start healing and feeling good a the same time.

Education for Children - We need to teach people that they can love fresh food, and lots of raw fruits and veggies, and enjoy a happy healthy life. We need to teach our children that eating healthy will help them stay healthy when they become adults… if they keep those good habits .

Learning How to Deal with Stress - Stress is another component of this mix which is attacking our bodies. I see people with stress every single day and we need to teach people to meditate and de-stress. We have more people with stress in the world than ever before… and that’s not good. We even have people who have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and they have never been to war. Our bodies are freaking out with stress and all the chemicals in our food and because of that our immune system goes crazy and starts attacking every tissue.

The Answer to Stress - Simply learning meditation and meditating for 45 minutes in the morning and 45 minutes in the evening makes all the difference in the world. Learning Vipassana or T M meditation is crucial and it’s very easy to learn. Most importantly, it’s the daily practice of meditation that is vital… thus making it a part of our daily routine.

Populations of people around the world who eat a nutrient dense plant-based nutrition who meditate daily have very few cases of autoimmune disease.

So we have the answer to healing autoimmune disease… and we can heal this dis-ease and start anew.

Plus, I am not the only one saying this, lots of specialists and even medical people are also saying the same thing. Our food and our stress are killing us and causing autoimmune disease… and we have to make changes.
