While it might be simpler to think of this energy as electricity or gas in your car, your home also has energy that it uses and moves. When you are working within Feng Shui principles, you can harness this energy and allow it to work for you as opposed to against you. From the time you’re at the grocery store to the time you fix a meal, you are using energy in your home. Your kitchen is one of the rooms where energy is built and lost the most often. Here are some Feng Shui tips to help you keep your home’s energy balanced.

Feed Yourself Well

The energy that you have in your kitchen will be a part of each meal that you make. Thus, it makes sense to spend time working on the energy of your kitchen. While the room might be a place you visit frequently, one that feels ‘good,’ you need to realize that any disruption in the energy of the room is going to affect the way the food is made, even if you can’t taste the difference. Each bite of food made in this room will have the energy of the room in it. It’s a good idea to begin boosting the energy of the kitchen by buying good food that nourishes not only your body, but also your soul. Pick foods that are good for you and that are able to support your health.

True Colors

In the kitchen, colors which will help to support the energy include reds and other warm colors. The warm colors of the spectrum have more energy than the cool colors. While it’s important to see where the kitchen is in the bagua map of your home as well, colors which seem to stoke the proverbial fire of this room and thus of your entire home are going to be the best fit for your Feng Shui needs. If you find that the warm colors at too much energy for you then try using the cooler colors like blues and greens on the walls and then using the warm colors like red, yellow or orange in your accessory items.

In Working Order?

As in any room, you do not want to promote the energy of things being broken or cluttered. Make sure you remove any items from the kitchen that are not necessary to have in this space while also fixing any items which might be broken. Keeping broken items in your kitchen will create the energy for broken situations in your life.

If you can not fix an item, then remove it from your home entirely. The more you focus on paring down the items you have in your kitchen, the more easily energy can flow.

By using Feng Shui in your kitchen, you will begin to find that the energy of the entire home is transformed, possibly overnight. Your kitchen is the heart of your home and it’s time to treat it well.
