There cannot be many schools around that do not take on some kind of fundraising for schoolstasks at one time or another. The great thing about fundraising in this way is that it is a unique way of bringing parents, children and teachers together to raise funds for the same cause. The only question is in how it will be done.

Most of the time fundraising for schoolstakes place in the schools themselves. There might be regular events that can raise money for all kinds of causes. These could include summer fetes, Christmas parties and even Easter events too. Some schools have a calendar of events that stays almost the same every single year. But even on these occasions the people organising the events will need ideas for raising essential funds.

For instance some parents might make the effort to bake cakes that can be sold at the event. Others might make other more practical things to be sold. Another popular way of getting more funds flooding in is to hold competitions and sell tickets for tombolas and so on. These will always garner attention and there is the chance of winning a good prize as well as having the knowledge that you have donated some money to the fundraising for schoolsevent.

A non uniform day is another popular event that can be held from time to time. In this situation the child will normally bring in a pound (for example) in exchange for the right to wear normal clothes to school for the day.

The main thing to remember with fundraising for schoolsis that it shouldn’t incur a large outlay. The idea is to bring in funds and not spend them. This is why perennially popular events such as school discos and quizzes tend to do well.

It is also worthwhile putting in a request to all parents, teachers and pupils to ask for ideas for future events. This could bring up new ideas that can add an additional spin to Fundraising For Schools of all kinds. The more ideas you can come up with, the more chance you have of raising even more funds in the near future.

Most school fetes and similar events succeed in raising lots of money because they use a combination of fundraising ideas. For example a cake sale, a tombola, some competitions and second hand stalls to buy things from – this is a good combination that should produce a good income for the school. But you will also notice that it does not require a lot of outlay to get it up and running. Some donations of time and effort from parents and teachers – and children too of course – should do the trick.
