We've all heard about the positive effects of omega-3 supplements on our health. So, is it the real deal or is it just hype?

Let me share with you a personal experience. Over the last eight years or so, I had suffered from a candida infection which had caused all sorts of problems in my body, including anxiety , massive inflammation and unbalanced blood lipids (cholesterol, high triglycerides and more). These are typical side-effects of having a systemic yeast infection.

My experience has shown that a total lifestyle change including diet , supplementation, exercise and a change in outlook (becoming more positive about our life situation) can help alleviate or eliminate most health problems.

One of the supplements I started taking was a top-quality molecularly distilled fish oil supplement from New Zealand. Since I started taking it, I have noticed major improvements in three areas of my life:

Firstly, the DHA which is present in fish fat has a definite effect on brain chemistry. I noticed that taking six or seven grams of omega-3 oil in the evening after dinner improved my mood dramatically! Fish fat nourishes the brain and has been shown in many studies to decrease levels of stress, depression and anxiety . These benefits can be gained by taking 2 capsules per day, every day.

Secondly, after going on capsules, most of my aches and pains disappeared. Scientists have shown that the essential fatty acids contained in fish and fish oil capsules decrease the amount of inflammatory chemicals produced in the body. This, in turn, decreases the aches and pains associated with arthritis , rheumatism, carpal tunnel syndrome and other inflammatory conditions.

Thirdly, I noticed a marked improvement in my blood chemistry results. My triglycerides and cholesterol levels dropped drastically. Within several months of combining a diet low in simple carbohydrates and high in fish oil capsules, my triglycerides dropped by about 75%, from being slightly above the upper limit considered "normal," to being well below the upper limit for heart health. So much so, that the microbiologist was shocked at my results!

So, if you only pick one nutritional supplement to buy, take a high quality concentrated fish oil. You won't regret it.
