The current Atomizers of electronic cigarettes have two types commonly used by all manufactures:

Type A: the bottom of the Atomizer has air vents for air to get in.

This design is the most popular, and it gives a very good air flow to enhance the flavours of the E juice . Also the moist does not build up inside as much. But all these kind of design will have the common issues as following:

For this type, if the user fills the e liquid and the e liquid leaks out straight away, or while you smoke, it leaks out, then the Atomizer has quality issue , but if it does not leak when fill, but after smoking for many times, there will be moist built up inside, and with some oily liquid, and it will slowly leak out from the air holes at the bottom of the Atomizer, and this is normal and the user needs to wipe them out after several uses.

Also with this type of Atomizers, it is better fill the E juice just enough for consumption for a day and refill them daily, this way, it can keep the E liquid fresh , and also prevent it from soaking too much on the cotton, because E liquid slowly leak out of the air hole. Better only fill to 1/3 of the capacity. As the more you fill, the more likely the E juice will soak up the cotton too much, and the cotton will be over soaked and E juice may leaking out through air holes.

And this is normal with this kind of Atomizer, you will need to wipe off the small amount of E juice with tissue before using it. Once wiped the E juice off , and if you smoke straight away, the E juice will evaporate out of the soaked cotton. Also if the coils has been used for a long time, then it may also leak E juice, as the cotton of Coil might have not be as good as fresh cotton does when it is soaked with E juice.

Also it is important to keep the E cigs upright when using it and also when you put it down and not using it. As lay the E cigs down, will increase the small amount of E juice leaking out.

Type B: the air vents is at the top of the Atomizers.

For this type. There will be no E liquid or water leaking out, as the air vents is on the top. It costs more to make. Also after many uses, the user will need to clean the moist with E juice built inside , by washing it with hot water, and then make sure you dry the coils 100%, by using hair dryer or leaving it dry for hours.

Both has its good pointes in some ways. It is important, once the E cigarettes are filled with E juice, they are standing upwards at all time, if it is lay down for a long period of time, the E liquid can sometimes slowly leaking out from air vents. Clean the Atomizer once every 2 to 4 weeks, (heavy users might need to do it weekly) will keep the unit fresh and make the smoke taste better.

How to clean it? Pull the Atomizer apart, replacing the coil with new one (spare supplied in most units). And rinse the parts in warm water until it is clean, dry it 100% before use. It is dangerous to use the Atomizer when it is wet, as the heating element will heat up water into steam, and if you inhale the steam you will get burned.

When you fill the Atomizer the first time when it is empty with a new coil in it, it is better you fill up only 35% the tank with E juice, and then wait for 10 minutes so the cotton in the coil will be soaked with E juice, then you can start using it. You can also prime the cotton in the coil with E Juice to speed up the soaking process.

WARNING: NEVER TURN ON THE UNIT WITHOUT E JUICE SOAKED THE COTTON IN THE COIL, YOU WILL BURN THE COIL STRIGHT AWAY. SO IT IS IMPORTANT NEVER TURN ON THE NEW UNIT WHEN SHOWING CUSTOMERS. AND THE CUSTROMS CANNOT TURN IT ON, UNITL THEY FILL THE E JUICE.
