There is no doubt about it. We all have certain people who we are around on a regular basis who get on our nerves. For whatever reason, there are things they do which make us angry or aggravated. If we stop and think about it, other people can do the same things these people do but we don’t get upset; however, when certain people do them, we get very annoyed.

Why is it we have these certain people who we don’t like to be around? It could be because we don’t trust them. It could be some of their habits are very annoying. It could be we have different ways and the way they do things just bother us to the point we don’t even want to be around them. We are made different than others not for them to annoy us but so we can compliment each other and work together.

It is really hard to say how to deal with people we don’t like and we don’t want to like. It’s difficult to make someone like us and it is just as difficult to like someone we just can’t like no matter how we try. That is why we have to give these situations to God. There is a reason these people are in our lives. God puts everyone in our lives for a reason.

We can’t, with our own power, like and get along with everybody. We can’t agree with everybody. We can’t even please everybody. We just have to accept the fact we can’t and decide we will love everyone as God does. God loves all people. It doesn’t matter if they do annoying things. It doesn’t matter if they make bad decisions. It doesn’t matter if they talk too much or too little. God loves us all and we need His help to do the same.

We should stop thinking about what we need and look at what others need. We should stop trying to make things work our way and see how God wants things to work. We should make sure our interests are God’s interests and our attitudes are like the attitude of Christ. We need to accept others no matter how different they are and get past their annoying habits and see what God sees in them.

Just because others are different than us doesn’t mean they can’t make a difference. We all have something God wants us to do in our lifetime. We have something He wants us to do right now. We can’t spend our time avoiding certain people when God’s plan is for us to work together. We need to be sure we love everyone as God wants us to and look for ways to work together so we can make a difference.

Philippians 2:2-5 “Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.”
