Apps for Commuter Convenience introduced in Thane, WB by Transport Departments

To put the transport sector in digital real-time mode, Thane Municipal Transport and the government of West Bengal have introduced mobile navigation apps for commuter comfort.

To provide a real-time location, Thane Municipality has introduced a "whereismytm bus" routing system for all TMT buses. The app provides the estimated arrival time, the nearest destination, specific fares, availability of seats in the bus, etc.Commuters can also book tickets and renew passes using the 'Whereymytmtbus' app.

The government of West Bengal has also launched an app called "Pathadisha" App and has received chip cards in state buses. West Bengal's Minister of TransportSubhenduAdhikaryinSubVision app was an initiative of the 2016 Vision of the WB Transportation Department. This app helps in an intelligent, simple and transparent way of commuting.

The 'Pathadisha' app aims to give 24 * 7 service to the simple people. The app will also provide smart cards up to Rs 1000 for boarding the government buses.

The initiative to bring such navigation apps to market will stop theft of spending on public transport, put bus workers and passengers out of the crisis and bring clarity to the system. This is part of the process to put the transport sectors in digital real-time mode.
