When you give to others your gift is abundance . Giving doesn’t always mean in the monetary from. When you donate anything of yourself, you are giving. By helping someone else you are making their life easier and it makes the heart and soul feel good.
When you donate your time it will come back to you in the form of new friendships and a better understanding and compassion for people. When you donate money, you are helping to ease someone’s burdens. We all have good days and bad days. Everyone gets down on their luck every now and then. Some people live in poverty and know the challenges of life, all too well.
Hunger hurts, homelessness hurts, and being unemployed hurts. There are food pantries and homeless shelters everywhere. But just because they exist doesn’t mean that they have the funds or the capacity to help all who are in need of their services.
Anyone who has a benevolent nature understands others’ needs. Getting to understand those needs just takes a little bit of effort on your part. We have numerous organizations out there to help others. Some of those organizations are; The Red Cross, Goodwill, and FEMA to name a few.
Take a closer look at yourself and see how you can help someone in need. Do you have spare time to volunteer, any spare money to donate, or can you help out by mowing the lawn for an elderly person?
When you donate to an organization, go to their website and find out the items that they are in need of. Sometimes it is not just food. They might be in need of clothing, shampoo, paper towels, or other toiletry items as well. When stores promote their buy one get one free, it is a great idea to buy one item and donate the other.
Remember, giving is not just for the holidays. People are in need all year round. When you give of yourself freely you already have acquired abundance . It is in knowing that you’ve helped out your fellow man.
