Who kidnapped Christmas last year? I say pay the ransom and bring Christmas back and extend the holiday! Participating in the 12 holy days does just that.

“The story of the Sun God and the story of the son of God are one and the same.”Lyman E. Stowe

According to the book "Mystery of the Christos" by Corinne Heline the events in the life of Jesus the Christ represent the initiatory steps that each one of us must take on our journey to become a Christed soul. The Christ Spirit has four aspects: cosmic, planetary, historical, and mystical. According to Heline the Christ makes four major contacts with the Earth during the year at the solstices and equinoxes.

The Advent Season is known as a time of purification and preparation for the holy time of the winter solstice and the return of the Christ Spirit to Earth. This is during the Sagittarian period which is known as the Feast of Light. Advent begins with the last Sunday in November. It culminates with the Midnight hour of Christmas Eve when the Christ Spirit has fully embodied every atom of space and has uplifted our hearts and souls with the essence of love and goodwill.

The celebration of Christmas does not end with December 25. The next 12 days, until the 12th night (Epiphany), has been described as the Holy of Holies. This is the time when one can dedicate themselves to their spiritual preparation for the new year. It becomes a wonderful time for a soul’s promise to the divine path of God Goddess.

The ancients knew their relationship to the Heavens and the Cosmos much more than “modern man.” We have lost our way, except for the few brave souls who daily aspire to reach the divine. Our divinity is ever present right within our bones. It does not have to be reached on a mountaintop or some secluded cave. It beckons us at each moment. As a Sufi prayer chants, “For every “Oh Lord” of thine are a thousand “Here am I’s.”

This holy time of the year can be used to reach that part of us that is eternal and immortal. There is a reason that most of the world has enhanced feelings of love and brotherhood. Many choirs of Angels are present to help us to open our minds and hearts to the possibilities of us as human/divine beings of light. We are all on the same journey, back to the one reason for our existence.

We live here on the planet, running around trying to see if “our way” is the truth. In the world of Spirit we all are part of the Great One. Embrace your time here as a path of learning to understand that Oneness.

My journey began with the 12 holy days in 1977. I started studying with my first metaphysics group that year. It took a few years for me to get going with the messages that came through me. I would light my candle and wait for the words to come. For years I thought it was the only time I could do this type of writing. I found out that when in the right peaceful mood messages can come through anytime.

Last year people were afraid to say Merry Christmas. They were concerned that it might offend someone if they weren’t Christian. I like to cover all bases, wishing Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah and Happy Holidays. Someone told me that when her husband got sick she wore a cross, a Jewish star and the symbol for Islam. When will we see that we are all one in Spirit? All part of the same creative force that expresses itself through the love we share.

Each holy day is assigned to a Disciple, sign of the Zodiac, spiritual attainment, spiritual part of the physical body and a passage from the Bible. As each day progresses see the spiritual center in your body in light. On the 12th night, January 6th, the whole body is lit up like the glorious Christmas tree. This day, “Little Christmas,” or Epiphany heralds the arrival of the three wise men.

Celebrating the 12 holy days of Christmas creates a beautiful ending to this special season. After the hustle bustle, parties and gifts, the next 12 days can be set aside for our spiritual dedication to the coming year. The angels are close at hand during these days and are only awaiting our acknowledgement of their presence.

The 12 holy days of Christmas gives us an opportunity to connect with our Spirit and the true meaning of the Christmas season.
