"Happy New Year!"

I am sitting here in beautiful Colorado, as our second storm of the season has arrived. I have had plenty of time to think about what I want to achieve in 2007. Aside from planning for the future, it is just as important to review the past. You need to re-examine 2006, the highs and lows, so that you can learn from your mistakes and not replay the same mishaps this coming year. What are you proud of accomplishing this year? What did you learn or gain that you can bring with you in 2007? On the flip side, what would you like to have done differently? Ben Franklin once said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, yet expecting different results. Great wisdom ! I will periodically stop and look at what is not working in my life, so that I can brainstorm ways to fix it. Sometimes you just need some fresh perspective. Bounce your ideas off friends, colleagues, or a life coach so that you can have others help you create a clearer vision for yourself. Instead of being at the exact same place one year from now, than you are right now, look outside the box and take some much needed risks this year!

ACTION STEPS FOR THE WEEK:

* Review 2006Time to reflect on the previous year. What is the point in making resolutions, if you don't know how to better yourself or learn from your mistakes? Take some time this week, some uninterrupted alone time, to journal your thoughts. Write down your accomplishments and the tools it took to achieve them. Also write down difficult lessons learned and how you can improve upon them this year.

* Celebrate your successes
Too often we are rushed to move on to the next goal, that we fail to acknowledge what we did accomplish! This week is also about celebrating your successes. Make a toast to yourself. Treat yourself to a massage . Go out with some friends and enjoy a great meal. It is the "little accomplishments" that make up your life, don't pass them up to move on to the next achievement . Celebrate in your own way this week!

* Plan big
Now that you can move forward from 2006, what are your dreams for 2007? Why not put the filter aside and have fun with your dreams ? Instead of making up excuses why you can't possibly do something, why not create reasons why you can live your dreams . Create a dream board of everything you want to achieve in 2007.
